Serendipity

Originally from a children's book series, Serendipity's book was released in 1974, when Stephen Cosgrove couldn't find books to read to his three year old daughter. Illustrated by Robin James, the books were written to appeal to children and impart a gentle moral lesson.
The 26 episode anime was released in 1983 in Japan, running from July to December.
The English dubbed movie, made from the first four episodes of the series, was released in 1989 on VHS.
